    blah blah blah

HPIM2092 When you ask Olivia "what does yaya say?" she answers "blah blah blah".  Too funny, but exactly how I feel tonight!

Still really sick, fighting the remainder of the lovely head cold I brought home from Vermont (miserable weathered state, but gorgeous!) I'm afraid it's turned itself into walking pneumonia. Last night I could hardly breathe. Cindy brought me her nebulizer and that really helped. Today has been a better day.

The weather is miserable. Starting to get cold outside. The wind seemed to be a bit strong today too. Cindy and I went to get our nails done (spoiled). They turned out really well. Then, of course, we went to Walmart. We should just apply for a job as often as we are there. Haha.  I came home and ended up taking a 3 hour nap! What a life huh?

My grandmother left me some quilt tops that she did and I am going to finish one for my Logan. It's going to be beautiful! I'll definately post pics when it's done. How cool is it that Logan can say she has a quilt made by her grandma and great great grandma? AWESOME.Look at me

hat's about it for me. Life is good and big changes are coming, so pray for me!!

    Ever Wonder?

I find myself thinking alot lately about what is worth having in my life and what isn't.  I've given up the things I believe are not worth it, but in the process I feel kinda lost.

I have a very close friend who is going through some rough times and I don't believe he is making the right choices. However, I keep silent and listen because it is not my place to say what's right for him.  I know he is doing what he believes will bring him happiness and contentment, but all I see in his choices are pain and heartache. All I can do is sit back and try to help when it falls apart.

Which brings me to the part of Ever wonder....

Do you ever wonder if you have made the right choices in your life? Nobody can make all the right choices but looking back are you relatively content in your decisions?  I had a few that I would change, but they have made me who I am. I like who I am today. I still have rough edges and often times I open mouth and insert foot, but I am just me.  There are some things missing in my life, things I really want. So my newest mission is to put forth every effort to gain those things. I want a new chapter in my life.

Isn't it funny how, once you've reached forty, things become more clear. The pettiness falls to the wayside and the important takes the front seat.  Sometimes, looking back can help you to look forward. My children are grown and reasonably settled. Now is my time and I find myself kinda floundering in where to start. I look around me and see all sorts of people who seem to have it all. I had it all, but seem to have lost it somewhere along the way. That's okay though because it makes the journey that much more interesting. I am sure I will find the things I desire, but who's to say when that may be. In the interim I will have some very fun experiences and a few memories to add to the list.

So, for those of you who have it all, Hooray! For those of you who do not, enjoy the journey. We only have one life and how you live it is up to you. For me, I want too many things to waste my time being ugly or impatient or rude or whatever. I am looking forward to tomorrow...

    The Best Hug EVER!....

What a trip!! I left KC at 6:50 am last wednesday. The sky's were good and the weather was in the 50's. I arrived in NH at 12:00 pm and it was bleak, wet and FREEZING! Welcome to New England. Now, I love New England, it is the most beautiful place I have ever lived. However, you will rarelyHPIM2328 hear anyone say it's great weather there!

So, I immediately got the Best Hug EVER! It came from my son. Now, this is not the son I sent to Vermont a year ago. I looked up and there stood a grown man (with full beard and mustache), with tears pouring down his face! What could be better?? After a year of not seeing each other, I couldn't think of much.

What a stud, huh ladies? Unfortunately, He looks just like his father. This was the first time I've every met his girlfriend (Kelly) or her daughter (Olivia)! She's a nice girl and he seems happy. There's really not much more you can ask for than that.  HPIM2326

It took me all of 2 seconds to fall, head over heels, in love with Olivia. She is only 22 months old and smart as a whip! She is one of the best babies I have ever been around. She eats when she's suppose to, she sleeps when she's suppose to and not once did I see a fit while there. She has the biggest doe eyes and the curliest brown hair. Needless to say, the grandma in me came out and we became fast friends! I enjoyed her very much and I am surprised how much I already miss her and how badly I feel she is so far away. I feel like I am going to miss out on way too much.

So, I had a great visit, saw some OLD friends, and found some new ones. So happy I went. I'll leave you with some parting scenery pictures, it certainly is beautiful there. Even if I missed most of the exquisite foliage, I still managed to find some color.

P/S ... I've been home less than 24 hours and YES, I have a cold!!

    Enjoy!    Roo

  • Gotta love those Sundays...

Karmawet How I spent my sunday:

Sunday. I just love this day. Now, don't get me wrong I love the Lord with all of my soul, but Sunday has just got to be the best "flop" day ever. As the bible says: "On the 7th day he rested". Amen

My day began at 10:00 a.m. (LOVE IT). I got up read the paper, drank some tea, cut some coupons and then I flopped.

1:00 p.m.- Time to bathe the dogs. This is actually the only routine Sunday chore in our house (Smile). They have been going to the groomer for so long this is not really a chore anymore. They seem to enjoy it (once, of course they are dry).

Harleybath Harley, as you see, has been trimmed short so that he can grow out in the winter. He gets cold so easy!

It takes Karma a little longer to dry than Harley, so she has to walk around wet longer. Neither of them like to be wet. As you can tell by the look on Karma's face.

1:30 p.m. - Sprayed dogs. This we do in the garage. Well, Cindy and I took the dogs out to the lot to run. When we returned to the house we were locked out! Now, imagine 2 ladies locked outside in their pj's, no cell phone, no smokes and no way to get in. We started looking for open windows and low and behold the teenager had left his open! Praise the Lord! we get a patio chair and head around the house, all the while praying the neighbors aren't watching or video taping. I literally had visions of seeing myself on AFV and our neighbor winning $10,000. That's enough to piss you off huh? At anyrate it's safe to say I got my gymnastic practice in and somersaulted into the window. Happy ending, I landed on the teenagers bed!! I then went to take a  nice, long, hot shower!  Put on my footie pajamas (yes footie!) No matter who you are that will make you feel better.

2:00 p.m - Baked a cake! yellow cake with chocolate frosting. Cindy and I neither one are much on cake, but Jack likes his sweets in the evening Cindy says, so he gets cake.

Spent the rest of my day mostly flopping out and watching movies. And let me tell you, I feel peaceful and relaxed tonight.

Getting CRAZY excited to go to Vermont. Haven't laid my eyes on my son in over a year and that is just not right! I realize they grow up and move on but a mother is ALWAYS a mother and he will just have to learn to live with it. He's survived so far.

Hope everyone has a great Monday. They are only as bad as we let them get and I say tomorrow will be Happy Monday. Enjoy!

  • Thanks!

First off, I would like to thank everyone for the warm welcome! Cindy has been trying to get me to Xanga for quite some time now and I am glad I finally joined.

Today was a quiet day for me. Jack went golfing, Gator was with friends, and Cindy and Mary went to meet their cousin and do some family stuff. If you get the chance check out her site she has pics and will explain all that her day entailed. Mine was very peaceful and I absorbed as much "head space" as I could get. Caught up on some reading and chilled with the dogs! Who doesn't love days like that?

Getting geared up for my trip to Vermont next week. My oldest, Ryan, lives there and has for a little over a year now. He has a girlfriend and she has a little girl (Olivia) that I have never met. Very much looking forward to it since they are talking marriage. My youngest, Amanda, has been married since May of 2007. Her and her husband have Logan. She is my first biological grandchild, but I kinda feel like God gave me another one because I have enough love to go around and Olivia needs a good grandma on her fathers side. Apparently, her father isn't a part of her life and he is soon to be in jail for abuse of Olivia.  Can't wait to meet her. I answered the phone today and there was a little voice saying "Hi yaya Kandi". It was so cute. Yaya is greek for grandma. She certainly brightened my day.

     Olivia (Olivia Rae)

Amanda and Logan came to spend the night with us on Wednesday. We really didn't do much but it was so good to spend some time alone with her. That means without Josh. My son in law used to have my support all the way, at least until I figured out exactly how worthless he is. Hopefully, my daughter will make some big changes within herself. Aw young love. Makes me wonder how any of us survived our first real Love. But, she made that choice and now she needs to be the one to fix it. We all have our own paths to take but, let me tell you, as a parent it's really hard to stand back and let them go......I'm getting better at it everyday! Amen!!

    Logan3

Tomorrow is suppose to be a nice day here. Looking forward to getting some outdoor time in.  Hope you all have that same option. It's getting close to Win....I can't even say it let alone spell it out!! Yuck, I hate snow and cold. Guess I should move to a warmer atmosphere.....Anyone for Fiji?
